How versatile are you? What are your favorite patterns? I am as guilty as can be when it comes to wearing solids, sticking to my safe go to black outfits. Don’t get me wrong, all black can be sleek, slimming, and super edgy, but in a world full of patterns, why should we be so traditional? So, if you feel a little daring this coming spring season, then I say let’s take advantage of the fun patterns in fashion that the designers are bringing us. You can wear as little or as much as you desire with all the options from dresses and pants to shoes and belts. My three favorite prints hitting the city streets are highlighted in this week’s blog.
Polka dots – This polished pattern keeps such sophistication to your style. But don’t be fooled because heart and star-shaped polka dots are here to turn this trend flirty and fun. Chiffon blouses are among the most popular in this pattern. If you are not feeling comfortable with too many dots, than try a cute head band or bag to add some pizzazz to your outfit. Think Taylor Swift with this look.
Floral – This fresh, modern pattern is exploding from the runways to the stores. If you are the romantic, super girlie type, than this print is for you. From the softest to the most vibrant hues, floral prints are most popular in dresses, skirts, and even pants. One of the sweetest looks I have seen is floral pants paired with a solid tee and ballet flats. Another great idea is a floral dress with a delicate cardigan and skinny belt. There are endless ways to carry this trend off, and Lauren Conrad shows us two different ways.
Animal – These luxe, bold patterns are here to stay. This spring I see it taking a new course towards full images of cats, birds, sea life, and yes even lizards. But, have no fear because leopard, zebra, and snakeskin have not taken a backseat just yet. Finish off your look with hot red accessories which seem to compliments these prints best. If you are feeling like a rock star or a little exotic then this is the print for you. And, although everyone in Jersey may not be completely obsessed with animal prints, I am proud to say that I am .
