While looking at your wardrobe filled with clothes, do you find yourself saying, “I have nothing to wear”. So you have that job interview, or first date, or maybe even a brunch with the girls, whatever it may be, you do not want to wait until the last minute to plan your outfit. I am guilty as charged, and tend on leaving the house in a bad mood due to the stress of being unsure of my choices. So this week, I thought it would be fun to talk about fashion ideas for those very important occasions. When you know something is coming up, planning ahead will definitely keep those stress levels down the day of. I am hoping these ideas guide you in the right direction.
JOB INTERVIEW
Let’s get started with the competitive world of job interviews. Obviously not all interviews will require the same dress code. It’s important to think professional no matter what the job may be. Sometimes the smallest detail can make the biggest difference. This is not the time for sequins, wild patterns, or loud colors. You want “YOU” to be the focus, letting your personality and abilities take center stage. You really can’t go wrong with a suit but let’s think out of the box and try a pencil skirt with a blouse or even a dress with a jacket. You want to be taken serious while maintaining a stylish vibe.
Who doesn’t love the combination of breakfast and lunch especially with your girlfriends? Now this occasion can range from casual to dressy depending on where you are all meeting. Here are some examples depending on where you may be headed. I adore the casual pink dress, denim jacket, and heels for a more casual day. Of course if you prefer, you can do ballet flats, of flat boots if that would be more comfortable. The longer tunic, stretch pants, heels and clutch would be ideal for a brunch at a club/lounge setting. Either look screams time with the girls.
Date night
Whether it’s your first date, or date night with the hubby, that rush of excitement over comes us. So this is the time to get your sexy on. The goal is to look cool, approachable, and fun. Now here is a rule we all should now. Pick one feature to show off and leave everything else to the imagination. I say this to the married woman as well because your husbands will not enjoy the evening if other men are staring you down. With so many lengths and styles, you really cannot make a mistake with the classic LBD. My favorite for date night is the jeans and satin cami. It’s effortless, chic, and just sexy enough. You will look amazing without seeming like you tried too hard. You can finish this look off with a cropped leather jacket.
No matter what the occasion, plan ahead so you feel the right energy as you face the world and of course, always HAVE FUN!
