A favorite brand that I use.

Just like every trend comes and goes, essential oils is one that should stay. Dating back thousands of years ago, many cultures have used essential oils for medicinal purposes in everyday life. Whether focusing in on one particular oil, or a blend to cure, essential oils are being used more and more in massage therapy and in the home.

I was introduced to essential oils when attending massage therapy school. I was lucky enough to have a teacher that truly was an essential oil mixologist as I call her. Everyone that knows me, knows that peppermint is my all time favorite. I use it at work, at home in a diffuser, or … well everywhere. Peppermint is an anti-inflammatory, and helps with nausea. I suffer from frequent migraines and the 3 pills costing $100 with insurance wasn’t cutting it. Yes, it would cure/dull the pain, but something about taking these meds so often did not make me feel great in the end. I started using peppermint oil on my temples and in my diffuser, and noticed a more relaxed overall feeling with the migraine pain slowly disappearing. Again, this works for me and may not work for everyone, but why not try.

Other remedies that I found extremely rewarding for the self and home, was creating lavendar cleaner for the house. Lavender is an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, which when used to the clean the house, not only leaves it smelling fresh and relaxing, but also clean minus the chemicals. Lavender also is great for stress and aides in a more calm relaxing environment. Sometimes all it takes, is a little in the palm, three deep inhalations, and ahhhh. My final top 3 fav is lemongrass. I am a target for mosquitoes every summer no matter what! Lemongrass applied via a spray bottle that has been diluated keeps those mini vampires away and has a nice lemon scent.

The many reasons I love Lavender.

Yes the list goes on and on with the many essential oils out there, however these are my top 3 that I love because they have a variety of uses. Feel free to share and ask away.
